For those of you claiming you are unable to make reservations, here is a web site of some nice places to stay that will help you to find a place.
Places to Stay.
I can't stress enough how important it is to make reservations very soon if you plan on going. The wedding is during the absolutely most busiest time to go to Negril. If you don't make a reservation soon, you will not be able to get a place to stay, and you're not staying on the floor in our room! So put that out of your mind.
It is expensive and the most popular time to go. This is because Jamaicans know how to do New Years.
Generally they have the biggest Reggae concert of the year on New Year's Eve. The last concert I went to down there was about $5 to get in, beer was $1 for a bottle of Red Stripe, and they had 5 bands playing in the huge outdoor concert place. And that wasn't even New Years.
If you're planning to go you have to make reservations now!
I can't stress that enough. If you can't swing it, that's cool, we understand, we're poor too. Just let us know then. We won't be angry. We will be angry if you wait till the last minute and then can't go despite the fact we told you to get your act together.

More Information
Our plans for the Big Day
Right now we are planning on having the wedding at Xtabi and then having a small "reception" at my good friend Joslin's place.
Joslin's Gardens
Joslin was a very young man when my parents first started going to Jamaica. (They've been going every year for 20 years) In those days he was working for a lady named Mama Hilton who owned a place with a few cottages where my parents would stay. When she passed away, she left Joslin some land at what was then the rural West End of Jamaica. Joslin cleared the land and built a home for his family. He has since been forced to relocate to chilly Wisconsin in order to make better money for his growing family. He and his wife Laurie have two lovely children; Joshua and Josie.
Joslin and his family have become part of our family. My mother and I both claim Joslin as our "brother". I think of him as the bossy, older brother I didn't ask for. Joslin's family is always part of our family get-togethers.
But What About Joslin's Gardens?
Sorry, I have a tendency to go off on a tangent. Joslin's lovely home is a place where people come to stay. All the rooms there are very nice (and already taken by my family for the wedding) Walking up to his front porch always makes me "officially" feel like I'm in Jamaica. In fact, if you go here, you can see lot's of pictures of Joslin's place.
This is my favorite picture of Joslin. His favorite thing is to work on his Jamaican yard when he gets to leave Wisconsin and go back to J-Town. (What people that have been to Jamaica call Jamaica)

Welcome to Our Wedding Blog!
Hi Everybody!
I'm creating this blog to pass on vital (and not so vital) information about our wedding. I know a lot of people have never been to Jamaica and hopefully this blog will help you to plan your trip. Your trip to take part in our joy. Always remember that our joy is why you're here. Your joy is secondary, but also of some importance.
The Big Day
The big day will be December 29th. It is a little more pricey, but with teachers involved we have to do it over Winter Break. So suck it up cowboy. Okay, that was mean. I don't mean it. Just save your money so you can go.
Where Will the Wedding Be?
The wedding will be at Xtabi, a lovely resort in Negril. JoAnn and I had a very nice, romantic, sunset dinner there last time we were there. Its on the cliffs on the western end of Negril and and has really cool caves underneath where pirates used to keep their booty.
I said booty.
Here we are in the cave.
Places to Stay
Xtabi This is where JoAnn and I will be staying in addition to where the wedding will be
Sandals This place is pricey but all-inclusive. So if you drink a lot his is the way to go.
Beaches Another all inclusive place.
Hedonism All inclusive for those of you who are a bit.. umm.. frisky. You know who you are.
Rockhouse Nice place on the cliffs, near Xtabi.
I'll be talking to my parents about other options for places for people to stay. Leave a comment if you have questions.
More to come later.
